There is a thread on Brighthand (http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=baa2e85e76e2f2cfb211ba328bd88995&threadid=84148) about Office Depot selling the $129 Toshiba High Capacity Battery Pack (http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/pc/pc_prodDetail.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0157171234.1058911732@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccjadcilkjhefecgfkceghdgngdgli.0&comm=ST&plin=PDAs&pfam=PDA%20Accessories&poid=209773&Adoid=140389) for the e740 and e75x at $48.01. Well I went at my local OD (http://www.officedepot.com/stores/locator/find.do;jsessionid=0001COEQZEQJCQU4KM3KQYHSH1I:ufnir22a?zip=32751) during lunch time today and they were on sale for $24.01!! 8O That’s over five times cheaper than the MSRP!! I got myself two of these babies and they still had a few left… :D

I don't really think it's related... plus Toshiba will replace the batteries anyway...

Checked last night ..... my OD was out. Wish their web page would offer that price.

So my office Depot only has them for 48.01 ... what's up with that?

So my office Depot only has them for 48.01 ... what's up with that?Hey that's still way cheaper than the original $129 price! :D

Perhaps my local OD just made a mistake and cut the price twice?

I just picked one up last night and I cannot get it to work with my e755. My best guess is this: when I look at the regular battery that came with my unit it has a small contact point on the side with the lock that activates the battery whereas the high capacity battery does not. Is this a new "feature" on the e755 (I just got mine about a month ago) or am I missing something.

The High Cap battery does work on my e755. Just make sure it is properly mounted on the PPC.

Should have posted this to begin with . . .

The problem is this: I install the battery and all seems to fit fine, but will not power up without being in cradle or attached to power source. Immediately the light turns green and power settings indicates fully charged state. However, when I remove from cradle or power source it immediately turns off and reconnecting to cradle/power results in hard reset. Granted, I have not allowed it to charge fully, but the fact that it reports a full charge is curious to me. Perhaps I need to let it charge up and try again. BTW, it is an "A" battery, so is not subject to recall.

There was a thread in either this forum or Brighthand's about a similar problem with the battery. I think the solution was basically to remove and remount the battery until it finally works properly...

Hi All,

I picked up a high capacity battery from Office Depot today for 40.00. It had the bad serial number but works just fine. I called customer support at 7pm PST and someone actually answered in customer service! He was curtious, registered my refurbed e740 and set up the replacement of the battery at no cost to me and best of all I get to keep the original high capacity battery I just bought. There is no trade in. He just said throw it away.... . Apparently it is not an electrical problem but a plastic case issue that allows the battery to slip past the locking mechanism and dis-engage from the PDA causing loss of power. This one from OD is nice and tight and seems just fine for now....no big deal.

After reading all the bad press about the customer service...I have to disagree. He even resolved an issue I had with the upgraded 802.1x application while I had him on the phone.
