From what I understand, no; but I could be wrong. I am trying to remember a thread that was in this forum not too long ago that hit on this...

Anyone else remember for sure..?

if by "commercial infrared" you mean "powerful infrared that can be used with the builtin remote control software," then yes, for sure the 2215 has it. I'm pretty sure it is CIR (whatever that's defined as), and i know it can hit my TV from across the room. Of course I find this underimpressive as even my old Palm m100 was capable of that when i installed remote software on it, as was my old Clie t415 with its built-in universal remote software.

I think it's the 55xx chris is thinking of. For some reason they chose to include CIR on the 2215 but not on their high-end 55 series, which annoyed some people.

I had a look at a h2210 and it did have the Nevo software installed and it is mentioned on the HP site:

use the iPAQ as a remote control device for audio and video equipment with the integrated Universal Remote Control

So I'm guessing it does

Did anyone get the iPAQ 2215 to work with TV Remote Controller 5.4 from www.pdawin.com ?

For me it does not, but Nevo works from over 30 feet away with the iPAQ just pointed in the general direction of my equipement. (i.e. don't have to point it directly at the IR sensor on my TV, VCR, Stereo, DVD player or cable box.)

And I emailed the PDAWIN folks, but never received a response.

Cool!!

I stand (or type...) corrected! I'm glad to see that the 2200 has Nevo.

Nevo is a very easy to use app and you should have no trouble at all setting up your iPAQ to control your devices. I use it with my 3955 and my 5455 and love it to death!

Kind Regards,

cIR = Consumer Infrared

The rating on the 2215 is 17 feet, according to mynevo.com, but several sites are reporting 20 feet.
