Work2 Sync Issue

A co-worker was just asking me about a problem that he has when he syncs his iPaq 1910 with Outlook 2002. He says that any Work2 phone numbers that he enters on the iPaq end up added to the end of the Work phone number in Outlook 2002.

Has anyone ever heard of this issue? Is there a solution or is this just a known problem?
