The T|T 3 will use the same screen as current NX, 320x480.
(the rest of spec is the same, Xscale, BT, 64MB) This after Sony announcement of PEG UX50.

Now the big question to microsoft PPC team.

WHAT THE HELL have you guys been doing all this time? We are 'investigating it' is just not a good enough answer is it, when the competitor already have a finish product in the pipeline.

The mere fact that PPC team sitting with thumb up their ass while NX hi res+ is out for so long with no PPC matching competition is idiotic enough, and now even Palm inc has better screen. This means POS main products line are all WVGA now.

NEWS FLASH: YOUR BASIC rigid QVGA only requirement is FRIGGIN' stupid. It retards the development of the platform. While you guys are doing victory lap with the release of PPC2k3 and gloat over the end of Palm inc's OS 5.0. You are neglecting to add critical feature in timely manner. That is NOT acceptable. Nice screen is the heart of good PDA.

Somebody is making bad business decission here.

and PS. fix the recurring alarm. It's broken!

8O i may return to palm in a year or two if they keep up with actually innovating in their products... whilst PocketPC remains stagnantly making minor improvements to the original iPaq from back when Compaq was its own company.

That T3 is a nice system there; and if it doesn't suffer from the proprietary issues the Clies have... well, they may have a winning device on their hands. I always liked Palm's interface better... and if it's powerful enough, in practical terms, to do what i need (multitask, DivX playback, SNES emulation, wi-fi expansion)... well, i don't think i could resist.

With the release of T|T3. (probably september-nov time frame) POS will certainly be ahead in hardware screen, but of course that's not everything in a PDA.

There is stil a lot of critical area that PPC is ahead, CF peripherals supports, comm layers and various high end apps availability. The state of multimedia in POS are definitely laughable. And thing tht you want such as emulator are depended on advance API, which is also pathetic in POS. The T|T3 will only be as capable as T|C. And as you know that isn't saying much.

But screen is critical, it's what a person constantly see in PDA.

I personally think this is just Microsoft PPC team being a retarded group as usual and has become somewhat complacent after 2k2. The winCE .net support various resolution so this is not something that will take them a long time to fix. Also this is the result when they turn everybody into MVP and bribing them continuously with gifts, nobody speaks up and be very critical when they screw up royally.

True, but if PalmOS 6 and 7 are leaps and jumps, Microsoft may see its advantages decrease. I'm sure Microsoft is watching; but I want their response to be more aggressive, too. ;)

Also, considering they at Palm are just to release Tungsten T2, I dont think they are coming so soon with such an update.

Now, obviously I understand your dissilution. It is funny how they at PPC do so easy screw things up. If not, why the mellow yellow thread? That looks like something all set up and ready for the next step. But it isn't.

I own a Palm and I'm thinking of a TT2. I dont think however that if the TT3 is for real and like this in the pics, it is so well conceived. Landscape screen is good, but the slider thing is not. It is supposed to make the device shorter but usable. As I see here, if you do not open the slider you wont be able to see the whole very much desired large screen but just a part of it. No good no matter how fancy it looks.

As a fact I think TT3 images are fake.

Eh, I doubt it's fake, how many devices do we see that turn out to be fake? iWalk was fake, but even then, iWalk was one of the absolute most elaborate hoaxes I've ever seen. Probablity says it's real, just may be far away.

Well, since in some photos it doesn't appear the "E2270" label but a "T", and in one with the "E2270" label the T is clear behind...

Also that mix of English and Chinese labels for the icons is strange. But I see your point. The same happened when the T2 images leaked first.

As a consumer, I expect improvements with no compromises and I feel this thing of the slider paired to the 320x480 screen is one of them. And as a Palm user, I expect Palm (and as a consumer, I expect the same from Pocket PC) to concentrate in what is important and to take apart trend-setting gimmicks.

hey everybody, BTW, the "notify me when a reply is posted" is still not working... :|
