The pre-order period is until July 25th days (<a href="http://www.vajacases.com/pre-order/pre-order.html">read this for more details</a>), and you get 15% off the normal price of $54.90 US, making it $46.60. This is a great deal - how long does it take to get the coupon if I sign up as a subscriber? Do I need the coupon in hand before I order?

Vaja doesn't sell anything that's "leatherette" - it's all real leather. And if you take a look at the site (http://www.vajacases.com/vaja/catalogo.nsf/SelProdsEN/971x), you'll find that the case that's available at this price is black (http://www.vajacases.com/Vaja/catalogo.nsf/Prods/971x-T/$file/t.jpg).

Once they start shipping the black ones, they'll roll out the other colors, the other types of leather (http://www.vajacases.com/vajaweb/leather_tips/leather_tips.html), etc. At least, that's how they've always done it before.

Wow, up until 2-4 days ago I was fully planning on buying a 2215 (at the student price) and this definitely would've pushed me over the edge for subscribing.... but now I'm not getting a new PDA, my wife is instead :D so looks like I'm still going to pass... sorry.

But that is a GREAT deal!!! I paid almost $80 for my Jornada vaja case (and LOVE IT!)

It does not. I ordered a case sans clip for my wife's T68. Smooth as a baby's bum back there.

Still - probably end up ordering a custom Vaja case now... you and your tempting coupons...!

According to the Vaja site, you have 24 hours to cancel a custom case order.

Cancel it now, while you still have time!

This was a standard 2210 case - so I figure that cancelling within 27 hours will be safe this once!

You'd normally have to wait for two week until the payment actually comes to be before I'd release the coupon code, but if you really want to use it for ordering this case, email me (jason at pocket pc thoughts dot com) with your username, and your real name used to register, and I'll send you the coupon. Just don't cancel your subscription before the payment goes through or I'll hunt you down.

For previous Vaja owners:

How do the pockets on these things fare? Are they "grippy"? The orientation of them seems like it could cause loss of items if not .

I already ordered a Piel Frama case with the clip, but I'm thinking I might gat a Vaja without.

Although I don't particularly like the slight bulk that the Vaja cases add to the Pocket PC, it's a nice price, but could someone please just make a simple flip cover for the 2200?

You can hold the case upside down and shake it and stuff won't come out. I keep 2 sd cards, 4 business cards and an emergency card in the pockets of my Vaja Universal Pouch, and nothing has ever fallen out. In fact, to get the SD cards out, I have to pull kinda hard and make sure the "pull slot" is facing out.

The leather is tight, and molds to whatever's in the pockets over time. My e125 case was the same way - no problems.

$18 shipping... Ouch... I was ready to buy it, and then I saw the $18 S&H charge. I might still buy one, but I'll have to wait until I hear from people how great they are, otherwise, if I decide to return it, it'll cost me $36!?! 8O

So there's no way to avoid that you have to take the 2210 out of the case to change the battery, is this true?

P.S. I didn't know Krusell also has one, any others (just so we'll know what's out there)?

But anyways this offer is just too good to pass up! I'm just waiting for my (4th) membership trial to expire by end of today so I can presumably get the Vaja coupon (tomorrow?). As such I didn't see a need to add to Jason's burden by manually emailing him...

P.SS. How can I check if my first 3 membership trials weren't actually charged? I'm not worried though -- if my bank docks me half a grand, I'm on the first flight to Canada with my hunting rifle

Yeah, the $18 is kind of high, but I think the main reason for that is that they're shipping from Argentina via UPS or FedEx. I'd guess that people living in Europe and ordering from North America probably pay similar rates.

$18 to the US too. It's a killer. They shouldn't call it a "$20 off" coupon - it's more of a "free shipping" coupon.

I can't imagine paying for one of these without the coupon... as good as the cases may be... it's a lot of money to be tossing around on accessories.

Yep shipping is high...

There's also other options out there.:

Piel Frama
Krusell ($29.95 from Data-Nation no s/h)
EBcases
CasesOnline

Those are the one's I've been eyeing. I really like the Vaja, but on closer inspection saw that I had to custom build it to get the features the Piel Frama has standard. Mainly the cut out for the headphones, I had used a Piel Frama with my 3955 and really like having the case closed with the headphones in.

As I mentioned earlier, I bought the Krusell, it has a cut-out for earphones and I still have the ultra-clip from my Jornada's Krusell, so I'm cool there.

The Piel Frama's are nice, I like the magnetic closures and the cut-outs for the memory cards. Still ~$67us it's a lot of money for a case. Oh well...

I like many of you are looking for a case for my 2210.

Vaja cases are great (and I may yet get one) but they have covered so much of the front of the 2210 it looks funny to me.

I can't find an image of the Krussel case and a UK supplier - plus do they do it without any belt clip...

Pile Frama's case looks nice but again it's got a ridiculous belt clip - I mean who uses those! I 've emailed PF to see if they will product one without but had no reply.

I have also emailed Covertec to see if they will be making a 2210 case - again no reply.

I'm using a Palm case at the moment and that won't do ;-)

EDIT - JUst looked at PF's site again and found a drop down box that lists the case without a belt clip - hurrah!

Vaja make probably the best cases full-stop! The quality of leather, construction and thought put into usage makes the price worth paying.

Piel Frama come a close second - but they have made some odd design decisions that take away from the excellence.

Krussel make quality cases but they are nowhere near the standard of Vaja or PF - to buy one in the UK just purchase from Data-Nation - they sell to the UK at a fair price (without fuss) and have a very high level of service, speed etc.

What design decisions have PF made that you think are strange?

I think their 2210 case looks a better design than the Vaja one - which is a shame as I ma aVaja fan having had a few in the past; although my Tungsten case was dissapointing.

I'm looking at the Piel Frama and Vaja too but one that seems to catch my attention as well are at Casesonline.com. They seem to be in the price range of the two previously mentioned companies but not familiar wtih the quality but I am impressed with all the options available for the ones that are now available for the 2200.

Has anyone here used their cases? Like the quality, design, etc.?

Per my previous question about battery change, which case is easiest for you to just take scissors and cut out a flap on the back for the battery cover? And maybe glue a velcro pad so it can remain closed when not used... Sounds practical or not?

You would CUT a VAJA case!? 8O

Why not just take it out of the case? It's not a permanent molecular melding you know.

wow. cutting a vaja case.

i think i may mess around with the included 2210 case once my Vaja comes in, try to turn it into a decent flip top and show off my mad sewing skill :) but cut into a $80 leather case? woah.

You can always wait until Vaja releases the other models for the 2210; maybe they'll let you custom-build one with a battery flap...
