Okay, I just had this questionnaire sent to me via Handango and one of the questions was, "how much money did you spend on software this past year". Well I'm thinking to myself, "I spent quite a bit... probably too much ... maybe around $200".

Well, since I make most of my purchases from Handango and have a member account, I thought, "this shouldn't be too tricky to verify..." So I went through the log of purchases over the past year and stopped counting when the amount went double of what I had expected. 8O 8O

So that got me curious as to how much others have spent.

I'm in the same boat. I can't believe how much $$$ I've spent on Software. I really should take fuller advantage of trial periods I guess.

If my wife ever saw the grand total of PPC software and accessories (plus my DVD collection), I'd have to buy her a car. :shocked!:

OMG 8O , I didn't realize until I checked "My Purchase" that I had that much money to throw about. But I am one happy and satisfied PPC user. Satisfied but poor.

You know, of the 12 people who have responded though, 6 say they spent less than $100...

I wonder if that was their "conjectured" amount or the "confirmed" amount... for me, the two amounts were VASTLY different!!

I'm a freeware kind of guy. I think I've spent $70 on software. Total.

Yikes! $202.72 US Dollars! Thats over $300 Canadian. 8O Most of this software I do use on a regular basis and I did trial before purchasing. And I did win a couple in the PPCT New Year's Day giveaway, but still that's a lot of cash. Way more than I've spent on PC software.

Here's the list...
$19.99 Pocket Informant 3.0
$12.47 Pocket Informant 4.0 (Upgrade)
$11.95 City Time
$9.97 Resco File Explorer 2003 (With Coupon)
$3.47 FlexWallet
$29.99 eWallet for PPC & Desktop
$29.95 Calligrapher
$49.95 HPC Notes Professional
$14.95 CE Playlist
$9.99 Cropped Out
$9.99 Spb Arkaball

...And I'd like an answer to the last option in the poll. :D

Thanks!

For the record, my name rhymes with "Eddie"... but I got a lot of that "last option" growing up. :|

I do have to echo your sentiments though... I've spent a TON more on PPC software than PC software... shoot, I think I've even spent a lot more on PPC HARDWARE over the past 3 years compared to PC hardware.

I just realized my PPC software expenses exceeded $800... and this is now depressing me a bit! :(

Some software were really worth the money (e.g. Agenda Fusion, Calligrapher), but others such a waste of $$...

I agree totally. A lot of the titles I've purchased haven't seen my screen since a week after I bought them. I am happy to say I've calmed down a great deal in my spending of late though. And now that I've found out we have a baby on the way, I'll be stress testing every trial version from here on in! :D

After the first few weeks when I bought PI, @mail, Repligo, Textmaker, Battery Bar and Journal Bar, I've tried loads of apps but the only other one I've paid money for is Fitaly.

I have downloaded loads of trials but nothing has made me excited enough to want to make a purchase.

My next software purchase will be the Dell 03 upgrade when it is released. The only other thing I will get is another text input method. So far Caligrapher is not working for me, nor is the Full Size Keyboard.

I know the pain... mine was around $550. It's a real eye-opener, isn't it?

That's the biggest thing, right there... I wouldn't mind if I was using all the software I bought, but as I was going through my purchases, I saw a lot of software that made me want to :twak: myself!!

I remember running a report a while back and it was over $2500 (CDN). That includes an HP1910 and a bunch of accessories though (I have three VAJA cases).

Still, $2500!!!!

OK seriously now: Nobody tell my wife. 8O 8O 8O

I know that my expenditure is low, since most retailers will only accept a credit card.
