Anybody know of a location where one can get a copy of the US Constitution and Amendments in MS Reader format?

Every search I do only turns up commercially available copies.

For future reference, you can always find a plain text version of the Constitution (or other document) online, then use this add-in (http://www.microsoft.com/reader/downloads/rmr.asp) to create e-books through Microsoft Word.

A while back, Microsoft had the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights available as free downloads. I have all three, but can't find them on Microsoft's current Reader site. I'm not sure if the legalities of me giving out copies of these books, though...

Pony99CA has copies of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence in .lit format on his site (http://www.garlic.com/~svvg/svvgppc.html#DOWNLOADS). Although I don't know if he has all the amendments to the Constitution, or just the Bill of Rights.

Sheesh, I'm amazed that folks feel they need to have a published copy of some public domain doc/book in the .LIT format. Microsoft brainwashing?

MObipocket's PUblisher makes .LIT ebooks as well as .PRC ebooks. And the Word RMR plug-in is free.

Or just copy the ASCII version of a doc to the PPC and use MObipocket's reader to read the HTM or TXT file directly. Much faster and customizable than Reader.

or use the free ubook reader. It has some nifty features, too, like it can open images and many other document types for a slideshow, customizable skins and colors, its own ClearType sort of thing... very nice.

People, you don't have to be a total slave to closed formats. If a better alternative is out there, why deal with the MS format? I use the Pocket PC OS because, well, it's better than the alternatives, closed or open; but that doesn't mean i'm going to put up with all of their software when I don't need to. Unless i'm missing some secret advantage of the .lit format that i don't know about, why bother converting public domain documents into it?

One area i agree MS's closed formats are OK: WMA and WMV are great for portable devices (at least now that they've fixed ppc video in WMP so it doesn't suck); they make good low bitrate files. for high bitrates, no thanks, though.

Does anyone know where I can find a good selection of eBooks for free? I am thoroughly disgusted with attempting to find anything for free on the windows ce system.
If you want some useful historical documents, I've created versions of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights (and other amendments). They're on my Web site (http://www.garlic.com/~svvg/svvgppc.html#EBOOKS).
