There has been some discussion here of third party cases for the 2210, some which are already available, and others in the works.

The case that comes with the 2210 is not to great. Yes, it's protective and looks OK. But it's a hassle to slip the 2210 in and out of. If it opened up, it would be a lot better.

I see on the HP site that they are selling another case as an option, called "nylon slim line case for iPAQ 1900 and 2200 series (336677-001)". (The latter number is the HP part number.)

It's much less expensive than most third party cases, $14.99 HP full price. (Perhaps it could be obtained at a discount somewhere.) (Perhaps is cheaper too with the HP education discount, for students and teachers.)

Has anyone reading yet tried this case? If so, can you comment on it.

It looks like a similar material to the case that comes with the unit, but that it does open up with a flap, so it should be much easier to slide the unit in and out of. It doesn't look like you can use the unit inside the case, as you can with some types of cases. I'm not sure about that though, just deducing from the picture. The description doesn't explain much.

It has a belt loop, pocket for business cards, etc.

Anyone tried one?

I don't know if the following URL will work for you--

*** This URL just had to be fixed*** (http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/product_detail/product_detail_view.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0747794305.1058038831@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdjadcikmmllddcfngcfkmdfondfgm.0&product_code=336677-001&cat_level=3&browse_link=true[/url)

If not, just go to www.hpshopping.com, choose handhelds, accessories, model, cases, and you'll see this one.

If anyone has actually seen this case, used it, etc., I would appreciate feedback. Thank you.

Hi Gang...

I purchased the case after hearing folks complain about the standard slip case. I would highly recommend it. It seems to be made of the same heavy cordora nylon material as the stock case... similar to the nylon used in high quality travel luggage. The belt loop on the back is adjustable since it is equipped with heavy duty velcro... There is no way this is going to accidently come apart. The 2210 slips in and out smoothly but snugly... no marring of the rubber grips. The cover flap is also equipped with velcro, assuring no accidental opening of the case (I personally like it better than a magnetic closure). The interior of the case is lightly padded, and both front and back of the case have a solid core to protect the screen. I work at a chemical weapons disposal facility and use the case throughout the day. Regarding size... it is barely larger that my 2210, making it nice and compact... the E&B copilot slipper, which a friend has, is much larger. I highly recommend getting one.
