These themes will probably work on 2002. When I looked at a 2215 in Compusa, I beamed one of the themes on it to my e740 with no issues. Wacky things DO happen in the start menu, but they are minor. I think the theme I got had white text in start menu and it does show up white once or twice on 2002 but it then reverts to black.

These themes are rather nice.
When I get my upgrade I'm going to download the America one.
The Autumn theme reminded me of the time the US Marines got the Canadian flag upside down at the World Series.

I would like to get that Spiral theme I've seen pictured on some of the new devices. Anyone know where I can get it?

Is it just me (or my i700 PPC2k2PE) or does the fonts look really nice in the picture? Is ClearType enabled for the Today screen on WM2k3 devices, and/or can it be enabled on my non-WM2k3 (yet) device as well?

Walk into a Compusa with your 1910 and beam it from the 2215. Problem solved! :)

At the link you included for the themes.... the first 4 are the only new ones. All the other ones are older ones that were already posted. Which makes one think that since they lumped them all together that you can use themes interchangeably between 2K2 and 2K3.

And you can. I have one I got from a 2003 device on my 2002 device. A few bugs, but they are useable.

I think ClearType is enabled on the WM2003 Today Screen and I don't think it will be coming to Pocket PC 2002 unless it's from a third-party add-on.

I'm going to alert my local CompUSA to be on the lookout for strange people beaming things with handhelds.

A note on these new themes for all you Theme Makers. It seems another undocumented feature of the Theme file has raised it's ugly head. The New themes only have the main image in it and the PPC seems to use it in both the Today screen and the Drop down menu automatically. So the currrent Theme editing programs fail on opening up these themes because they cannot find the menu image! Even the newest MS Theme editing program!

Looks like I will be working on changes to the ThemeMaker line up tonight.

Yup -- I loaded the WM Blue theme on my Pocket PC Phone and it looks superb -- except for the fact that Pocket PC 2002 doesn't support white text in the Start menu. I'm willing to live with that compromise, for now -- the theme looks fantastic. :D

Of course they would not know what your doing in the first place so....heh heh :rotfl: . Ever notice that when you WANT something behind the counter they are impossible to find and when you are just there to get a accessory that's hanging on a blister pack they are like "may I help you" and I am like "go away" :twak: ! Anyway, these themes are nice! :)

I couldn't get the Windows Mobile themes to display on my Pocket PC (ipaq 1910). I'm thinking it might be an issue with Theme Master.

Uhh.. Just go to Settings, System, Screen, and check "Enable Cleartype". One soft reset later, and it should be enabled almost everywhere.

As per the previous poster -- even if it's enabled system-wide, it won't be on the Today screen in Pocket PC 2002.

It is probably the same reason the Theme Editing programs do not work. The new themes they posted only have one Image in them and I suppose Theme Master is failing because it cannot find the menu image.

I abhore buying programs to do little things that I can do myself. Theme switching is one of these. Besides automating theme switching would screw me up as I always have a few clunkers on their I never use except to demo different themes! (should clean that crap out) :) ANYWAY, I don't use any theme switching programs on my PPC 2002 and it works just fine.

If you simply copy the file down to the 1910 does it not work? Or can you simply not open it with Theme Master?

Does that mean Windows Mobile 2003 has cleartype support on the today screen?! 8O

Download them to your computer and put them in your file sync folder (for example, if my PPC were "Pocket_PC", the folder would be called "Pocket_PC My Documents" and usually has a shortcut on the desktop) once you sync the files over, go Start>Settings then tap "Today" and select the theme from the list box. :D

Disclaimer: This is the way to do it on a PPC 2002 device. I don't think that it differs on a PPC 2003 device, but I make no promises.

Just follow this link (http://www.pocketthemes.com/download.php?query=windows+mobile&op=search) to get the new Windows Mobile Themes at PocketThemes.com (http://www.pocketthemes.com)!

These themes have already been converted by the incredible KAMware, creater of ThemeMakerPT (http://www.pocketthemes.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=24_27&products_id=32) and ThemeMakerProPT (http://www.pocketthemes.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=24_27&products_id=159) so they will work on any device! Thanks KAM!! 0X

Um, for those of you who chose the yellow theme, does it look brown on your PPC? (Please god someone say yes.)

Yes, it's more of a butterscotch color. There's nothing wrong with this theme, it's just the way your LCD renders (or rather, mis-renders) colors.

Is there a tool out there yet that can write a WM2k3 theme (with the White Menu entries)? I have a few PPC2k2 themes which are virtually unusable that I want to convert...

Thanks....

I doubt that you will find a Theme Program that will make those changes right now. I just did a comparison of the file that controls the colors in the theme and they have added quite a few entries in the new 2003 theme file. None of the current Theme Editing programs know about these settings including Microsoft's.

I was not going to get a 2003 unit just yet but now it looks like I will have to to find out what all the settings are for so I can change the ThemeMaker programs for the new Themes. I will let ya know when I have it figured out.

This works the same. No difference. Sometimes no change is good!
