or do I need to get one? I hate the file explorer in 2002-i use star tap, but there must be something better out now...or is it fixed in 2003?

Nah, same "crappy" one...I can't do without Resco Explorer!

yeah, but the 1945's ship with Resco File Explorer on the companion cd.

The best free file explorer replacement, IMHO, is called Total Commander.

Do a google search on it.

You won't regret it!

If you can find an older version of Advanced Explorer, that was free too, and it was quite great. Similar in interface to Resco, and it had a lotta good features. I prefer the look to Total Commander, although that's a great file explorer too.
