Is there any good foreign language reference software available for Pocket PC--dictionaries--thesauri, grammar references, etc.?

If so, where can it be found?

Or, can such software written for Win 3.1, 95, or 98 work on the PPC? (Sorry if that's a "dummy" question, I'm new to PPCs.)

Do multiple language spell- and grammar-check dictionaries come with Pocket Word?

Any way to use a word processor other than Microsoft Word with a Pocket PC, like Lotus Word Pro?

Thank you for the input.

For Dictionaries and Language Packs, try this link (http://www.handago.com/PlatformSoftwareSection.jsp?siteId=1&jid=AD16X32181X1EXX1778748DEFEF1F4EE&platformId=2&special=&bySection=1§ionId=1460&catalog=30&title=Languages+%26+Translators) at www.handango.com.

I haven't had time to give them a serious test, but I think Ecacto (http://www.ectaco.co.uk/?refid=1296), TomTom Collins Dictionaries (http://www.tomtom.com/products/platform/category.php?Category=2&Platform=2&Language=4&PHPSESSID=e84ec56bc84b0f506c2931dd23274d27&PHPSESSID=2a9efc07b6e52db765e566c538acb208) and SlovoEd (http://www.penreader.com/PocketPC.html) looks like good choices. SlovoEd and Ectacto also has language sets for transforming the entire PPC OS. Some of these programes can also be called up from anywhere on your PPC to check spelling in differentlanguages.

You can not run any desktop programs on a PPC. There are however many programs available in both a desktop (Windows) and PPC version, like Acrobat Reader. Two different programs for two different operating systems, but it can read the same files (pdf-files).

TextMaker (http://www.softmaker.de/tmp_en.htm) is an excellent word processor for PPC.
