does the screen protector affect writing in a negative way??

like sometimes when i tap the screen, it acts as if i held the stylus there, so the red circle appears, and its really annoying.

is it because of the protector, or screen problem??

It depends on the type of screen protector. The one that i am currently using makes it almost impossible to write on

I have never had that happen, and I use a screen protector. I'd guess the way to test would be to take off the screen protector and see if it still happens.

I've used screenprotectors like Mobile Juice and Screen Face. They both are cheap and work fine. The screen gets a little bit blury, but tapping on it works fine!

Do you have any bubles or dirt under the screenprotector? I used two or three protectors before I got the hang of it...

I used a screen protector with my iPAQ for two years but when I got my 5455 I noticed that the screen was different. It doesnt scratch up as easily and is in great condition after abt 5 months of use. SO DOWN WITH SCREEN PROTECTORS! LONG LIVE QUALITY SCREENS FROM HP!!

It is a tragus screen protector which is not the normal brand that i use.
They seem quite thick in comparisson to others. I have been able to write perfectly without it.

Has anyone used or had any experience with the washable, re-useable one that you can get from Brando Workshop (http://shop.brando.com.hk/screenprotector.php)?

I've been using the first one I put on my e310 since August of last year. I took it off once and washed it about 3 months ago. The stylus glides over it. Little pricey, but has proved to be worth it.

A bit pricey, eh? I guess it's worth it to protect a screen that's worth considerably more.

I use a PPC techs one for the 5450 and it works nicely, altough it doesn't glide as smoothly as on the normal screen. Feels a little like scribbling on paper with a pen. Also I feel the screen got a little less sensitive to taps etc.

Came on withouh any bubbles and it's been on for a month or so and I can hardly see it's there anymore. I usually carry the iPAQ naked it the pocket so it's nice to know the screen is proteced from scratches. Overall it was well worth the money.

I've used G2 screen protectors from PDA Screen Protectors (http://www.pdascreenprotectors.com) and NuShields (http://www.nushield.com/personal_home.htm) and highly recommend them both. The NuShields are much easier to install than the G2s, but don't seem to be as scratch resistant. I used the same G2 on three different Pocket PCs with only one visible scratch, but my current NuShield has quite a few small scratches on it already. However, I've been using it heavily every day for the last four months.

One thing I have to say, though, is that both brands are virtually crystal clear. There is no screen distortion of any kind with either one. Also, neither one affects input in any way. Dragging the stylus is just as smooth as a "naked" screen, and I can't detect any decreased sensitivity. While it may be true that the newer touchscreens are more scratch resistant without any protector in place, I still prefer the peace of mind provided by having that extra layer of protection. I know that if something does scratch the protector, I can just slip a new one on and have a scratch-free, defect-free screen again for just a few dollars.

I'm getting a pocket pc soon and am looking into screen protectors. I can get the cheap ones locally which are Belkin. Now I'm not going to be doing any writing on my ppc just tap, or tap and drag. Will the Belkins be ok for that?

yeah, i've been using them on my old sony clie (i know, i know - but i'm getting a 2210 this week!). Unless they've changed the way they make them significantly, they have a matte finish (i like them, but not everyone would, necessarily). I'm not sure how negatively this would affect a reflective or transreflective screen (mine's a b&w palm), but keep it in mind. The matte finish gives it a nice writing feel though - much more paper-like than your usual shiny screen covers, and it cuts down on glare. As I recall, they're not too expensive, so you may as well buy one and see if you like it.

I've tried the WriteShield and the Brando. I prefer the Brando because: (1) you only have to buy one and it costs $12.00 U.S. including overseas shipping. and (2) it is easier to apply (could never get the WS on quite right)

I just got Micro writeguards. Ive never used a protector before but these seem pretty good. They are a pain to put on though.
