I have the 5455 and there is a little dust under the screen. This happened to me with my 3850 and I was able to open up my ipaq and blow out the dust.
I want to do the same with the 5455 but I am having a hard time opening my device. I managed to get all the screws out from the back but I cannot figure out which grooves need to be pushed in to open the device.
Can anyone help me out here or poiny me somewhere online that shows how to do this?
Thanks in advance.

I have no idea. But if you do, please take pictures. :)

put your fingernail between the two sides and gently pull them apart. BTW the screen is totally sealed so when you go to work on it, I would suggest doing it in a very clean and dirt free place. I've taken my 5450 completely apart a few times so if you need any more help let me know.

Still having a little bit of a problem. I cannot the right side of the case ( where the volume control is to open. The left side is easily opened but the right side will not budge. I do not want to crack the case any help?

You might consider sending this to PocketPcTechs (http://www.pocketpctechs.com). They will clean and seal your screen for a small fee, and have a workstation built specifically for that purpose which they use.

Wait a second here... is there any reason you're not sending this back to HP? Opening the case will likely void your warranty.

Don't they make resources available to you on how to do these kinds of repairs?

Actually no, they don't like us repairing these things. They prefer we send them to HP/Compaq for repair. But if I screw things up I can usually get most items replaced under warranty.
