Has anyone heard about this site: http://www.ppcupgrade.com about some Technology Guarantee Program???

I believe they are offering an upgrade, but I don't believe they are on the level. They seemed to have faked the Microsoft site. I registered, but was hesitant to put in my serial number.

What do you guys think :?:

Actually, I think it was legit. It used to be linked (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13986) from here (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/products/pocketpc/about/2003/upgrade.mspx) for the Toshiba units, but it seems to have been delinked; not sure why.

I believe that was/is the site to purchase Toshiba upgrades. See my link to a previous thread discussing the subject (click "used to be linked" in my previous post).

I am questioning the legitimacy of this website because of four things.
• It shows the old Microsoft Mobile Devices site. Microsoft changed their Mobiles Devices site to Windows Mobile on June 23rd. Since the Technology Guarantee Program was introduced after June 23rd, I would think that Microsoft would have used the new Windows Mobile site.
• I don't think that Microsoft would put a link to "E-$torefront by UNISOFT" on the bottom of their webpage.
• On the website it says the following: If you have questions about the privacy of this information, please call us at 1-253-896-9670, or contact us by email. The email links to the following email address: [email protected] If this Microsoft website was legit, I would think that the email would link to a Microsoft email address.
• Finally, I think that you would have to purchase the upgrade from the Pocket PC manufacturer because the manufacturer would have to configure the upgrade to the device (WiFi, Bluetooth, processor, etc.).

I think its legit, HP's upgrade page links to it. I am though wondering about your point above. I mailed mine in via snail mail.
