How to Turn Off Screen? (Like in Windows Media)

How do you turn the screen off in a Pocket PC but still have your program run with the full processor power? What I want to do is sort of like in Windows Media Player where you can toggle the screen. Can anyone point me to an article or tell me how to? BTW eVC++ or eVB
