Hello Everybody.

I am about to decide on buyng a plam based pda or a pocket pc (allthough i am seriously considering an h1910). I have searching for information tha may alow me to decide which device is better.

Let me tell you that i will be a new user to either Palm or Pocket PC, but definetely sixe, portability, ease of use, and manageability of word and excel docs is a plus for my use.

Ill thank any advice on this matter

Go for the 1910! I've got one, and I'm very pleased with the size and performance of the beauty! It's also a plus for the Pocket PC platform, that you can use your word and excel doc's on it.

Both Palm and Pocket PC has it's advantages, but I must say I personally prefer PPC, having gone from Palm to iPaq 3850 to my current iPaq 1910. I feel the PPC is much more versatile, with it's multitasking and I like the Windows feel. If you want a small PPC, I think you'll be very pleased with the 1910!

I have both Palm (Visor) and PPC (1910). I am very happly with 1910. The size and display is sooo much better than the visor. Not to mention I can do a lot more with 1910 (IMO)

Good luck...

I would say the choice completely depends on what you want to do with it. The things that you listed can be accomplished on either. If you want movie/mp3 capability, or more of a "computer" feel, I would steer you towards PPC.

My personal opinion is ... wait for the coming PPC2003 version. Ipaq 2215 and Dell X7 (?) look nice.

If you're looking for ease of use and word/excel compatibility, you can't beat the Tungsten C. Built-in keyboard that takes NO learning curve. Simple interface, but fast and powerful. And it does Word and Excel far better than the PocketPC's anemic Pocket Word or Pocket Excel apps.

At least for my money, that's what I'd want. MP3's, though, and movies... if you're looking for those, then PPC is a better platform.
