View Full Version : Costco Sale On Mobile Pants

Apparently Costco is running a sale on Docker's Mobile Pants. I can't find any info at Docker's Web site. I hope they aren't being discontinued. :worried:

Anyway, they're $19.99 per pair. I've sent my wife on a mission to get me at least three more pair. If I find they are being discontinued, I'll be taking out a second mortgage to get a lifetime supply.

Better ask your wife to get you a supply of cotton briefs or you may look like a DOUBLE EXPOSURE! :devilboy:

That phrase "Mobile Pants" is kinda unsettling.

It also reminds me of an old Dr. Seuss story

Pleats are still what is required for that "fresh-pressed" look!

I wore my black mobile pants yesterday to give a presentation at CeBIT America and I fit right in with the business casual crowd.

I find the zip's can be a bit of a pain at some airport security checkpoints now....if you get "hand wanded/massaged" they first wonder what they are, then get all suspicious that you have hidden zip pockets!

I stilll love 'em though.

When J.C. Penny's had the sale awhile back (I think they were 14.99/pair), I went back to get more and they said they were being discontinued...

My opinion: get 'em while you can!!!

geek jokes. i just tried explaning this to someone (who was curious as to my laughter). they just looked at me blankely.

this thread is great. :P

i always use cargo pants from old navy (they have HUGE pockets, and lots of them - holds my PPC great), but they are obviously for casual wear. for more formal attire i suppose i should pick some of these up.

They are advertised to carry all your "mobile devices." PDA, Mobile phone, etc., and help you from the combat pants that one would have to wear for all the toys. I still prefer the combats myself - but a pair of these wouldn't go amiss either.

Personally, I heard that the Mobile Dockers 2 will be a big dissapointment. They're based on a new fabric design, but most of the changes are on the inside; from a user standpoint, you won't see much of a real improvement. Some of the little bits you really don't care that much about, like the zipper, have been redone but I seriously recommend waiting until Mobile Dockers 3 if you really want some user-end improvements. Like I said, its all under the hood.

Dammit I can't wait until June 23rd :D

I haven't seen the specs....doubt they are "stain defenders". I'm sure a PPC 3rd party will apply their custom fitted screen protector technology and come up with an accesory. I can see it now...instead of ordering 320 x 240 size screen protectors, we'll order 32 x 34 pieces of removable plastic that are pants shaped!!!

Sweet, that's what I've been waiting for, Mobile Pants with that Dupont Teflon coating thingie. I'd asked them in the past and a Levi's rep did say it was coming...

I have a mix of Mobile Pants and regular pants w/ Stain Defenders (as well as dress shirts w/ SD). Of course they wear out kinda fast after repeated washings...

P.S. How about that Scott E-Vest... might be nice to have Teflon coated vest too (no, not the bulletproof type) :)

Yes... the insanely long link. Darn those crazy Dockers Web guys! (Thanks Ed, for the abbreviation).

I've been wanting to get a pair of these pants. But I could never find a long enough inseam. So for right now, I wear Old Navy Painter's Pants. Lots of pockets there. Still not a long enough inseam, but they're jeans, so they work alright.

"Hey! To the Dockers designers: If you're reading this, please make a 36" inseam for your Mobile Pants! That would be appreciated by many!"

Suspenders and garters mean the opposite in the UK and the US. In the US, suspenders are those straps that clip onto your trousers and go over your shoulders for holding your trousers up (deliberately avoiding the word "pants" as that means "panties" in the UK).

In the UK, "suspenders" are what we think of as "garters" - those straps that hold up ladies' stockings.

I'm guessing that in this case what ctmagnus meant by "garters" are those dorky suspenders that guys used to wear to hold up their socks. I think.

Then again, I could be wrong.

Sorry, but he’s not, (Though I’m sure he would like to be ). Here’s the breakdown of what you can be called if you live in this blessed area of the world.

Britain (Isle of) = Scotland, England, Wales
Great Britain = Scotland, England, Wales (+ a number of smaller islands which are Anglesey, the Isle of Wight, the Hebrides, the Orkney Islands and the Shetland Islands).
United Kingdom = Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Wales and the smaller islands.
British Isles = Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, the Faroe Islands, the Isle of Man and the
smaller islands.

Or, you could check these two sites:
http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Britain
http://www.geo.ed.ac.uk/home/scotland/britain.html

Confused yet?

There's plenty of room in a sporan for a PDA - though I don't know if it counts as mobile pants. :)
