The goal of the game is to help the bounty hunter collect all the treasure from numerous levels of the game and escape the guardians trained to do the only job - seek and destroy. And you will not have a machine gun or plasma cannon to sweep your way through. No, no. Weapons are for kids. Can you do that with only a shovel to dig holes? It's time to find out! This game is rather simple, but it is very interesting to play. It's not just an arcade - sometimes you'll have to think twice before you run!"<br /><br />Now here's a classic game! I remember the sweet amber hues of my 14" monochrome monitor hooked up to my blazing Laser 128 Apple IIe clone. Ah, those were the days. I wonder if anyone will port Gemstone Warrior or Montezuma's Revenge? I spent so much time on those games.

I just had a flash back to my childhood. I spent so many hours playing LodeRunner.

I smell a new game addiction coming on.

Hello Jason, :D
'Montezuma's Revenge' was MY game. I spent countless afternoons on frustration, several broken joysticks, grid paper coming up with 'the' map. I don't think I have been so addicted to a game like that ever again.
Recently I was able to run it on my iPaq using an Atari XL/XE emulator (it was also an 8-bit machine like the apple, so I am sure it should look about the same). Looks REALLY cool, the only problem I have is jumping on a diagonal with the iPaq pad. I wonder if one of those joystick attachments would do the trick. Give it a shot, it is free.

Legal disclaimer - I do have that cartridge still. Actually I still have the whole machine, it just doesn't work anymore.

Ah yes...LodeRunner, my favorite game of all times. I used to spend many hours in front of my Commodore 64 playing this game. Those were the good old days when 64K of RAM was plenty.

For five bucks, I haved had hours of fun with ICBM II. It is a great retro of Missle Command with a few extra power tools that make for lots of fun.

Gemstone Warrior
I think I wasted fifth and sixth grade playing Gemstone Warior and Bolo.

No, not the networked mac tank game bolo, but the apple II arcade game. I liked that game so much that about eight years ago when I was in college, I tried to write a new version of it in c++. I ended up with a tank you could drive around a maze, but never progressed beyond that. Oh well...

Ahh, video game nostalgia... 8)

I too spent many hours playing LoadRunner when I was younger. But I was very disappointed to find out the company that ported it is trying to charge $15 for the full version! No thx, I can find WAY-better games for PPC at that price! Oh well, it got me excited for a sec...

Game developers have to eat too...
Even small ports take a bit of time on coding and graphics tweaks.
(I do work for the game industry)
Look at this way, if you were to buy a PS One game you would usually end up spending more (usually $20 for the cheapest titles). With this oney you are getting something that you know you will enjoy (you were addicted to it once), plus you will be supporting the development of more ports by making it worthwhile for the guy(s) that did it.

I noticed that when I downloaded it. I have to agree, $15 is a little pricey for this title. I don't need to play this that badly. If others are willing to pay that much, then all the power to them. However, IMHO, all the games on their site are overpriced.

Nice job on the game, it looks nice, and moves prety good.

Comparing the PPC game industry and console game industry (especially the profit margins) is a very bad comparison to make.

Ahhh... I have very fond memories of Loderunner on my C64. For some reason, I always loved that game, and "JumpMan" also. (and one of them - I think it was JumpMan, let you design your own levels, and save them to floppy/tape, which I spent countless hours doing also.

Not sure how easy this is going to be without a joystick. Has anybody managed a hack to hook up one of the old-style black atari-type joysticks to an iPaq? ( when I was 13 or so, I managed to rig them up to my Magnavox Odyessy II, after it's joysticks went out - but that was simple).

Maybe I just didn't grow up in the right time, but I've never gotten used to the "X-box" or Playstation-style controllers - give me a blister-inducing black 8-way joystick any day!

lol

I didn't mean to imply that I was the developer of that specific product, what I said is that I work in the industry. I just happen to think that price is not that bad. If we as a community do not really support people that invest time and effort, we are not going to attrack the major players. There are a lot of titles that are currently available on the GBA that I think would make great PPC products.
Maybe think of it this way, for less than the price of going to McDonald's 3 times you can get it...
