MSN Messenger wont connect, but everything else does?

MSN Messenger won't connect, but everything else does?
What gives?
It says it cannot connect to the service, is it likely a problem at microsofts end? That would seem likely, but I couldnt even connect to the service even when I could on my PC.
p.s. I am connected via the USB doc, and am on a network.

Did you recently install or change a firewall?

There has always been a firewall on the network, I didnt think it was a problem with that though, as the PC version works.
