xda-developer has developed a tool to creat your own ROM image, great  , which mean that you can get rid off some the useless softwares, which come preloaded into your device, and have your own softwares. One of the 8) guy has made a Special Edition ROM (http://xda-developers.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1189&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=9c43a4d914a4272e35591d039e46ae8f) as an executable file. The tool was made for the europian GSM version, but it was tested by some T-Mobile users and work fine. Just check it out and try to make your own edition and share it with other. :D

That's cool, but can you do this for non-XDA devices? I know some people would like to remove some applications from their ROM images on other Pocket PCs -- if they could reuse the space.

This would be great to do to all of our run of the mill ppc's...I wonder why such a tool hasn't been made before?

Just imagine, burning your own ROM with all your favorite freeware, custom splash screen, today images, etc already incuded (and w/out any built-ins you don't ever use)
