Hi all,

I found that there is a USB external harddisk called anypak can actually connected with Toshiba e740 to expand the storage capacity. It may then be used as a photo storage bank for mobile users:

Anyone has already tried the solution and can give your feedback here?

Thanks!

I am using this drive with my e335, and Deje’s mass storage drivers. Though it requires external power, it works great.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your feedback. Can you tell me some benchmarking figure e.g. how long to transfer say 256M from ppc to external harddisk?

Thanks again!

I am not sure how to do this test using a 256 mb file...

here are the results from tests that I could do:

F Size PPC -> HDD HDD -> PPC
------- ---------- ----------
1 mb 2 sec 4 sec
10.7 mb 32 sec 40 sec

I could not test with any larger files becuase I ran out of space.

Hope this helps you. You might want to drop an email to the folks at Anypack. They might have a better layout of numbers.

I also asked the technical team of anypak and wish them can publish some benchmarking results as well.
