Problems setting up Wifi card...

Just picked up a D-Link DCF-660W CF 802.11b card for my iPAQ. Already at home I have cable hooked up to a Netgear wireless router with three computers running wirelessly using Netgear cards. I've followed the procedure for installation to the t, but I can't get things running right. I have the PCs on the network set to automatically assign IP addresses, but the D-Link card on my iPAQ can not automatically do this. I attempted to manually enter the IP address, I tried 192.168.0.(1-3). I tried all three of these, with the obvious subnet mask, but I don't know what to enter for default gateway, so I didn't put anything in. I don't know if that is why that didn't work.

I've never done any of this before, so I don't know what I am doing wrong. All I know is that I believe I have followed the instructions, and the setup window for the card shows the correct channel and AP number, and shows link quality and signal level at max. Despite this fact when I open IE I can't go anywhere.

Since the other PCs are running wirelessly it would seem the access point is Ok... Lets start with the network ESSID/SSID and WEP key on the PocketPC. Those must match the access point.

Make sure the Connection Manager is configured correctly. I recommend Work Settings, Work Settings and Work as suggested by Chris De Herrera in his FAQ.

Make sure you check off the This network connects to the Internet checkbox in the second drop-down menu.

Download and install both vxUtil and vxIPConfig to help troubleshoot this problem.

Well, thanks for the help. After fiddling around with it yesterday and today and seeking some help from a very network-inclined friend, my iPAQ is now wi-fi enabled!
