This page from Hitachi Japan, shows a new PPC running on Windows CE.NET (japanese edition). Does this mean PPC 2003 will have CE.NET, or is it still a bug fix with minor improvements? Does 'the west' have to wait 'til next year before we get CE.NET? Are the japanese Microsoft's guinea pigs? If so, wouldn't I like to be a guinea pig?!? :D

The guy there has actually tested the device! A prototype...

They're not mutually exclusive. It's pretty common knowledge that Pocket PC 2003 will be built on top of Windows CE 4.2. Jason even confirmed that, as does this post in the "Windows CE 4.2 Released" thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11715&start=15).

Howevver, that doesn't mean that the Pocket PC shell will be more than a bug fix. That said, another post in the "Windows CE 4.2 Released" thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11715&start=19) has a list of what will be included in Pocket PC 2003 (Paris seems to have copied the list twice, though). Check it out and see if you consider it a bug fix or not.

Thanks for the links Pony99, especially the one 'hidden' in the Off Topic Forum. I don't go there very often...

It's exiting times this summer. New PPC OS, new Ipaq's... I might have to trade in my newly aquired Ipaq 1915
