Anyone out there currently using a Pocket PC Phone Edition with Sprint PCS Vision? Wondering how the service is, and how the experience is web surfing etc on the PPC PE...

Also, anyone know if there will be a PPC PE based on the PPC 2003 OS and using an XScale processor coming out within the next few months? It seems like the only ones out now are StrongARM 206MHz based models running PPC 2002. I keep hearing that the PPC 2003 is coming out in June, but if anyone know whether any new models are coming out anytime soon that can be used on the Sprint service, I would love to know! Hoping to get one around July or August...

Sprint PCS is garbage. to say the least. I had it for a couple weeks and threw the phone back in their face. Vision is a joke. While theoretically it's a value because it's CDMA 1xRTT and unlimited with some sprint plans.. it's slow, unresponsive, goes down a LOT.. and get this.. to send a SMS text message, you have to sign on to a Sprint WAP sight just to do it. Sprint is garbage according to me and everyone i know that's ever had it. RUN!

D'oh! That sounds horrible! Anyone else agree with that?

What sucks is places like t-mobile charging $10 extra/mo for like 2 friggin megs of data transfer or $20 for 10MB. Pure BS and a major ripoff. Is there anyone besides Sprint that offers a good deal on wireless data and where you can use PPC PE's?

Well, not exactly what you're looking for, but the Samsumg i700 for Verizon:

XScale 300MHz (PXA 250)
PPC 2002 Phone Edition :(
64 MB RAM
SDIO
replaceable battery
$599 with two-year Verizon contract

Sprint is also supposed to have the i700 soon.

Sprint is making Samsung wait to release the i700 with PPCPE 03 because they won't have to use stupid 3rd party dialer software since PPCPE 03 can deal with CDMA Dormant Mode now.
