View Full Version : How do I get rid of the 'Low Battery' Warning?

I'm being extremely annoyed by the 'Low Battery' Warning that pops up constantly after the battery indicator falls below 40% ! Is there any way to set the Battery Warning threshold lower, like around 15%? If not, can the Low Battery Warning be disabled?

It's probably a registry setting that needs to be changed, so if anyone got the 411, please post. The best solution, for me, would be a program that took care of it, as I'm not the greatest registry hacker  .

Thanks in advance,

Thomas.

This what I could find: http://www.phm.lu/PocketPC/RegTweaks/Tweak.asp?ref=55

Doesn't change the battery warning from 40% to a lower value, but you can stop the warning bubble from popping up.

Thanks, Guinness! Fast reply 8O !That will at least get rid of the warning popping up all the time! And I'll see if I can implement the changes to my registry settings. I should be able to do it, right? :? :D

I would still be grateful if anyone has a reg fix or a program to lower the threshold for the Battery Warning to, say, 15%.

I used to think the 40% warning was stupid, too. However, I've heard that Lithium Ion batteries can be damaged if discharged too deeply, so maybe 40% is not such a bad figure.

That said, I think that some Pocket PCs do allow setting when the power warning is triggered. For example, the iPAQ 3900 series allows setting how much standby power you want. Check out this image (http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/iPAQ/3900/images/h3900-008.gif) at Pocket PC Passion.

3800

And thanks for providing a possible explanation on the 40% mark. It's seems a bit strange, though, as cell phones with LI-Ion drains all the way down... But if it's true, it would be OK with one warning as the PPC hit the 40% mark, it's the fact that it keeps reappearing that drives me crazy - or, rather, drove me crazy :D
