I found the Sandisk 6in1 reader, at Frys. Thanks for the help guys.

Anyway, I inserted my 256MB Toshiba SD card, which I had formatted and filled with data on my Ipaq 3970.

The Sandisk claims he card is not formatted and wants to format again.

WTF? My Ipaq can read/write perfectly with this card.

Any idea what's wrong?

There is a known issue with this card reader and Norton Anit Virus. I had a similar problem when I purchased this reader but I can't remember the fix. If you e-mail Sandisk's tech support they can provide you with a solution.

BTW, the card reader is great and very fast.

I'll email Sandisk, though from the messages in this forum, I gather I'm in for a long wait for an answer.

I don't have Norton AV, so that can't be it.

I was considering buying this reader, but then saw all the negative reviews (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006OX95/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/002-1150192-4960063?v=glance&s=electronics&n=516872&vi=customer-reviews) on Amazon.com. Sounds like you're just one of many users having card recognition problems.

In defense of Sandisk I received a reply to my e-mail from their tech support within 24 hours and they were able to solve the problem. The reader has performed perfectly and I personally have no complaints.
