Has anybody noticed that the first couple of reviews at handango, pocketgear etcetera seem to be a little fishy these days?

I was looking at some of the zio game reviews - same flaky english, and reviews that read more like press releases ('wow! this game is amazing possibilities' etcetera)

And I just tried to look at the review of Bug Lord on Handango - perhaps I'm being uncharitable, but again, it reads more like a press release.

Deeply skeptical of these reviews. Shame, because it mars the shine on some very professional looking products.

I'm not surprised. Both the companies themselves as well as pranksters might post. Look for "professional" reviews (like the ones we do here ;)) if you really need feedback.

I also often find a :google: search to be useful in those cases.

Handango. Feh. There's a "company" called Vietnamese Mobipocket with a ton of ebooks, some of the licensed, and probably pirated. Titles by S. King, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, et al. All the cover images are from paperbacks. I'm waiting to see what Handango does with the listing....
