I had heard rumors that the SD slot in the iPaq 1910 is not just for memory cards, but can be used for other peripherals? Any basis to that rumor?

Anyone? :?:

Thanks!

Supposedly the XScale processor includes support for SDIO, but that doesn't mean the rest of the Pocket PC supports it. There have been rumors that a driver will be released to enable SDIO on the 1910, but I haven't heard anything official yet.

I wouldn't place any hopes on a driver update for the 1910 to provide SDIO functionality...

I'm kind of waiting for the same thing too. I want BlueTooth Bad....

To be honest I'm kind of disapointed with my h1910, I mean, the unit is small sexy and powerfull but not having the SD/IO yet and no support for any jacket like options, makes me cry.

I hope HP can publish any kind of ROM update for it...

Well, this is sort of official: According to hp's german website, the 1915's SD port can be made SDIO capable by downloading the relevant driver(!) The driver is nowhere to be found (yet). :? Ipaq 1915 is the European version of 1910 - they're supposed to be identical.

I know there's be a lot of controverse about the 1910 having SDIO capability or not, and I wouldn't rush out to buy my SDIO WIFI card just yet. I'm still waiting for a test or something confirming SDIO, but this might be very good news for all 19xx owners out there!

I might also mention that the UK hp site clearly states that 1910 do not have SDIO. I hope they make up their minds soon :)

The Brighthand (http://www.brighthand.com/article/Updated_Info_on_New_Pocket_PCs) article about these new SDIO rumours.
Link to hp's Ipaq 1915 technical data (http://h71010.www7.hp.com/produkte/handheld/ipaq/h1900/techspecs.htm) page (the SDIO part is at the bottom of the page.)
If your german is a bit rusty, use Babelfish (http://babelfish.altavista.com) to translate.
