Janak has been monitoring the board all day, waiting for the magic moment when we'd hit 100,000 posts. This is a nice milestone for us, because our forums are a year old as of February. 100K posts in a the span of a year is pretty cool, and I think we'll break more than 200K by this time next year. So what was the 100,000th post? It was by Jonathan1 in the <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=101634">thread about LCD scanners</a>:<br /><br /><i>"Hmmm to access your desktop, laptop, or pocket pc computer you would put your thumb on the screen. Cool."</i><br /><br />Ok, it's not exactly a deep thought, but it's better than a flame! And what does Jonathan1 win for being the illustrious poster? A shiny new <b>Pocket PC Thoughts-engraved Micro-Light.</b><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/pocketpcthoughts-microlight.jpg" /> <br /><br />Pretty little thing, isn't it? More details to follow, but you'll have a chance to get your very own. Thanks so much for making this community such a wonderful place to be a part of. I tip my hat to every one of you - see you at the next 100,000!

It's also a lot better than the very next post (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=101761#101761) from Peter Traugot in the same thread.

Congrats Jonathan1, and thanks to Jason for putting this great community together! :D

(FWIW, as we got to the last 10 posts, it got pretty bad monitoring-wise. I started reloading like it was Jan. 1.)

Come on, you don't really expect us to believe you reloaded that many times now do you? :D

Congrats to Jason and the team on a site well done. Congrats on the 100,000 post mark too.

Outstanding!

I didn't realize that milestone was so close.

Considering just over 250 posts gets you in the top 50 in the memberlist, it shows that this is truly a thriving community. I think 100K this way means much more than if it were on a site that had a small number of members who just can't shut up (which is the case on some sites).

To me, that indicates that this is the most welcoming site around. I think we sometimes take for granted the mods who make it that way.

Until the next milstone, ROCK ON! :rock on dude!:

OK, not 100 times per second. Maybe 5 times a minute. Still, it was pretty sad... I had work to do, so I'd do about 10 seconds of work, switch, reload, switch back... at least Jan. 1 was a holiday.

We're busy posting nothing,
posting the whole day through.
Trying to find lots of things not to do.

We're busy posting nothing,
isn't it such a crime.
We'd try to stay on topic,
but....
we simply don't have the time.

We're busy posting nothing,
posting the whole day through.
Trying to find lots of things not to do.

We're busy posting nothing,
Steven's on our case.
We'll try to post a million,
and....
put a big smile one Jason's face.

Oh crap...as a Flashaholic (http://www.candlepowerforums.com) I'm not just obligated but bound to buy a PPCThoughts torch (My second favorite Message Board), even if it's far inferior to, say, my all time favorite Arc AAA (http://www.arcflashlight.com) or my other Favorite McLux (http://www.skunklights.com)

I am really nervous about clicking on a link for "flashaholics." Must be a generational thing. :)

Dang! 8O Well what can you expect from a guy at work that checks PPC thoughts once every few hours. Kinda hard to get to deep when at work. :D

How about life is like a box...wait....that't been done.

Thanks Jason. This is cool. the bulb on my minimaglight on my keychain just died. What timing

I'd love to see a histogram of users and number of posts per user (ok so I'm not a statistics person, but I think you get my meaning.)

Well as this report (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/28643.html) says, sometimes the office parties tend to go out of hand. Quote from the report:
If the office Christmas Party goes really traditional and you end up making 'cheeky' photocopies, you won't be exposed to toner or harmful light for long enough to hurt you [that's a relief, ed], but you may well find yourself spending the rest of the evening face down in casualty, having shards of glass removed from your bottom.

Great achievement Jason - and the whole Thoughts community!

By my calculations that works out at an average of 1 post every 6 minutes over the past 14 months. However I'm sure the rate now is much higher than it was a year ago.

But let's not forget that it's the quality of posts that really matters, not just the quantity.

Congratulations! Obviously what makes it a great site is the people behind it, thank you for your efforts and making it a very exciting experience.

My best wishes :bday:
