Hi, I'm hoping someone may be able to help. I'm thinking of buying an O2 XDA here in the UK as they aren't locked and come equipped with 64 mb RAM. I'm wondering if anyone knows if I will be able to connect this to a network in BC, Canada. I believe the phone is dual mode and not tri mode, is that going to be a problem?

Any information much appreciated.

I meant to write - whether or not I can register it with a provider in Vancouver. Fido, Rogers etc. It's dual band, not tri band, and the sales guy here says it won't be an issue........I have my reservations. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mike

Mike,

I think you will have trouble as I have a European model, dual band, 900/1800 Mhz which is what most of the world uses. It does not work in the US and I am pretty sure won't work in Canada, last I knew all of North America had standardized on 1900 Mhz. Hope this helps.

Thanks that helps a lot. Do you know if you can get the 64MB model in North America yet? Any idea if the North American version works in Europe?

Cheers!

Don't know about the 64 Meg version in the US and also not sure about the US version in Europe. The US version will be 900/1900 Mhz so I would guess wherever 900 Mhz is supported in Europe it would, but not positive.
