I got a new compaq Evo N1000v laptop with pre-installed Windows XP Professional at last month. When I plug in the USB of e740 cradle, XP said it found a new device and need driver. So I download the lastest USB driver from toshiba website and continue. After a copying screen, it told me:

Cannot install this Hardware

There was a problem installing this hardware
USB Device

An error occurred during the installation of the device
A service installation section in this INF is invalid.

Does anyone know what is the matter?

Usally installing Activesync solves this problem.

You need to install Activesync version 3.5 to get the Toshiba drivers to work. It comes on the Toshiba CD.

Only after you are up and running can you update to the latest Activesync 3.6.
