I did some searching for a freeware piano or keyboard program and found JB Piano (http://www.freewareppc.com/multimedia/jbpiano.shtml). It's really simple...and free, but I am still looking for a program which allows me to change the 'voice' to other instruments besides a piano.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Kinda off topic, but I'm looking for any music / music production related programs for the PPC. Only one I found so far was http://www.planetgriff.com

Besides Planetgriff, have a look at :

http://www.pdamusician.com/
http://www.klaar.com/

Talking about music, I also know about someone who owns this drum and bass device : http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/models/PS02/pdmodel.html
and modified GSPlayer to let it play its .aud format files, as well as wrote a little utility to transform .aud files to .wav
(more details in this french thread (http://www.pdafrance.com/pdaforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13001&perpage=10&pagenumber=1))

Some more freeware

Mod player allows you to play instruments on a little keyboard. Plus there is a little drum machine on the site as well.

Thanks, wocket. This is a very neat music application. I have always been somewhat of a closet musician. I used to travel alot and brought a harmonica along with me when I went. This program allows me to play other's compositions, (dowloaded from ModArchive (http://modarchive.com)) and play around with the notes that sometimes drift through my mind.

My nephews are going to want to borrow my Axim whenever I go over to watch baseball with their dad. They already do, but I think they are going to like this one.
