Congratulations! :werenotworthy:

I think I hear Janak in the corner weeping and shaking his fist at you.

Seriously, this is a great community, I love coming here, it's my "home away from home", and I fully intend on reaching 5,000 posts myself. Granted, I may die first, but...

Congratulations... 5000+ posts... WOW!

It's amazing - you still find things to write about, and people are more eager then ever to read what you have to say, even after 5000 posts.

That's worth a toast. And you definitively might want to consider to change your rank to "deity", your highness...

I saw you were at 4998 and figured you would hit 5000 today. If you saw my prediction in the "Anyone Want to Wager?" thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10166&start=16), Janak will catch you in September, though. :-D

if Jason's at #1 in posts, who's the highest after him? and who's after that?

is there a stats page or anything like that we can view?

Jason, some time back I recall that you were getting a little stressed with PPC Thoughts & took a little time out break.....it's great that you came through that and are still enthusiastic and are posting with a vengence. Keep up the great work!

I saw that, but of course it's not that simple -- all of our post rates have increased. :)

BTW, SS, I'm not quite weeping in the corner. I'm perfectly happy to stay at #2. Being a "Site Admin", though, has it's downside -- I miss the ranks :D

Oh, and congrats Jason :werenotworthy: BTW, I think our (Ed, you, and myself) rank should be "Has No Life".

Do you still remember what your [Jason's] first post was?
It's a little complicated. In the new system, this post (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=37079&highlight=#37079) is the first one datewise, but I believe it was imported later. Since Jason's user account was created on 2/2/02, this post (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=5&highlight=#5) might be the first "phpBB" post. On the other hand, this one (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=9&highlight=#9) after the crash might be it. :)

It doesn't really count, anyway, because Jason was using Greymatter for the really old posting system, and those posts went buh-bye with the disk crash. I wonder if Jason remembers...

In any case, my first one was Greymatter and I can't remember what I said, but my first phpBB post was here (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=271&highlight=#271)... and it's particularly telling:

Cool! This'll be the first PocketPC website that I frequent where anonymous posting isn't allowed... :)
 For yucks, go find your post list and go to the last page. It might bring back memories...

Actually, I think this post count includes all of the post-Greymatter stuff, i.e., including Chris's version where the front page was still the original format but the backend was phpBB.

If it included the Greymatter content... we could be talking 7,500 or more. 8O

Yeah, that post total is from Feb 2002, when we started using phpBB. The site started in October 2000, and we created our first commenting system in early 2001 if memory serves. Either way, it's been a whole lot o' posts.

Besides, to come anywhere near first sorting by total posts, he'd have to sort in ascending order. Sorting in descending order shows Jason, you, Ed, me and Kati as the five people most needing a life.

Not quite. Kati and Janak and I had a conversation about that a while back (sometime in late November or early December). At that time Janak was at about 550 posts total, meaning that in the time since, he's posted enough to more than double Kati's overall posting total.

I agree. Even I've posted as much as Kati since she joined. I just checked, and it appears I've posted about 1350 times since Kati joined. Even so, I'm not close to Janak. :-)

On December 11, Andy posted the Top 10 Poster list (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5614) to celebrate Ed's 2000th post. I had just hit 600; now I have almost 1700. That's almost 1100 posts since then, which means I've actually posted more than Ed has in the last 3.5 months. Watch your back, Ed! :-D

Well, "even" was a reference to a couple of things. First, that I'm not a Pocket PC Thoughts staffer. Second, that I don't really browse the forums. I mainly read the home page stories, the Last Ten Posts section and threads I've previously posted to. I rarely look at all new posts -- mainly because I like some time away from here. :-D

Not since Nov 3rd when you first joined. By my count, Jason has something close to 1800 posts since then. I don't know Janak's exact numbers in the same span, but I remember we (you, me, Janak) had that discussion about posting activity and that was like early December when Janak *only* had around 550 posts.

Isn't Ed also outpacing me?
True, just verified it. He's not outpacing you by much though. I think your recent slowdown has taken you off his pace (he's just short of 1300 in that span).

See? Aren't you proud? :D
