View Full Version : What is the FIRST thing you do when you visit Pocket PC Thoughts?

I was wondering what everyone else does when they first get to Pocket PC Thoughts each day. I usually just click on New Posts and read from the last page forward (ie. start at page 5 or whatever and read backwards back to page 1). This way I catch up on every new thread since I was last here.

Let me know what you think. This will also be a great way for Jason to optimize the site, if necessary.

New Posts - in fact I've bookmarked that rather than the front page (which is where I go next).

Me too. Exactly in that order.

Wow, I didn't even realize that "new posts" thing was there. Cool!

I read the front page, then right into New Posts. I find myself clicking on a banner about twice a week. However, now that I know it's the primary source of $$$, I'll likely make an effort to click more often.

I scan the front page to check out if there's an article I'm interested in reading - then jump to the forums.

Can you say Ego Search? Ctrl+D

Front page then straight to new posts. Sometimes i'll go straight to the new post but 7 time out of 10 i'll go to the frontpage first.

Is it just me or does the front page text look different now?? As in using a different-looking resizable font?

Also, first thing I do when I try to get to this site? Start cursing when I misspell pocketpcthoughts.com  Why can't you direct visitors to ppcthoughts.com to the main site also? Or better yet buy ppct.com from its owner :D

Totally. Me too. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to go to www.pocketpcthoughs.com

I just have it bookmarked, so I never misspell it.

And I usually read the front page before going to the forums, unless I get an email reply notification, then I'll just go directly to that thread.

Scan the front page for anything new, then jump to the new posts. Once a week or so jump back to the front page to click on some of the banner ads.

Cheers.

I think this is the first (or 2nd) week I've ever actually gone to the forums independently. Before it's been just front page scan, and posts to front page threads from there. Never got it into my head that PPCT is actually a forum place too...

After making sure my ad blocker is activated I read the front page first then look at the new posts.

Just kidding Jason, dont yell at me :agrue: I've been buying so much through your links your advertisers must think you are a star!

I normally go to new posts first and then read the front page, especially if I am using wirelessly.

On my PC, I usually go to the front page first and then the forums.

I also scan the front page, then go right to new posts. However, one of the frustrating things is that I can't go back to new posts (naturally) when I have to close my browser quickly (where the heck is that BOSS key, anyway?).

I want a feature that works like New Posts that gets me the posts in the last X days in order of their posting.

So instead of new posts, it would newest posts (or something like that).

Please?

Unfortunately, we're already deep in a pipeline for new features. Once that dies down, it might be worth investigating. :)

I take a brief look at the front page news, then I head in lookin' at my posts. Then I look at de new post since last visit.

I'm surprised so many people read the front page first, since all of the stories/articles on the front page are also in the new posts section.
