First since I'm new let me say hi :)

Secondly sorry if this is a commonly asked question I could easily find the answer to....

I recently added a wireless LAN card to my Dell ppc and started streaming TV video from my pc out to the ppc all over my place. It's been great but I can't change the channel from Windows media player. If anyone has any sugestions on a program that could do this I'd appreciate it. Of course I'd like something free (don't we all?) but I'll shell out a few (emphasis on few  ) bucks. Thanks y'all.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have XP and started with TSC, anyway I can get sound on it?

I have found that VNC works good for this. I've done it while streaming audio over WiFi, with no effect on the audio quality. I suspect with the higher bandwidth needed for video there might be some disruption while manuvering around the desktop screen, but unless it overwhelms the system and locks up, it shouldn't be a problem since you're changing channels anyway.

MikeG: Any particular reason you need sound? If you just want to play audio on your PPC from a PC source there are a couple of other solutions. One, you could use IRemote (http://mcmajeres.com/) on the PPC to control winamp on the PC and then shoutcast the stream and listen to it using GSPlayer (http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/gsp.htm) on the PPC. Or two, use the Network MP3 player (http://www.geocities.com/scansolutions/)

UPDATE: Oh, you said TV video... heh, nm. I use Windows Media Encoder to stream DirecTV to my Pocket PC, and I use a set of Remote Signal Senders (http://www.spectravox.com/d940.html). I have one mounted very visibly in the livingroom (where I can even see it from outside) and the other next to the DirecTV reciever that is hooked up to my Dazzle DVC80, hooked to my PC. I can use the Nevo (http://www.mynevo.com) Universal Remote on my iPAQ 3955 to change the channels.

Can you get remote access to your PC from your PPC?

Again thanks for the replies. Does anyone know if VNC will 9a0 work with XP and 9b0 use less bandwith thus allowing me to still stream video. If not, has anyone used netremote for something like this? I downloaded it but can't seem to figure out how it would work for this.

I haven't tried using it yet. I just found it and posted it. I'm going to try and get it working. If anyone else has pointers or has used it please reply. :)
