I have removed a few programs via "remove programs", but a generic windows icon stays with the program name. How do I remove these icons?

Also, is there a way to run PPC programs on my personal computer when I am synced?

Thanks,
Tim

I suppose it depends on what you're using to view your installed programs. If you go Start>Programs, you can remove these by going into "File Explorer", Selecting "My Device" from the dropdown. Then go into "Windows", then "Start Menu", then "Programs". In here, you can tap-n-hold the icons you don't want and tap delete.

If, by chance, you use a Toshiba and use the "Home" application, simply tapping and holding and selecting "Drop" will remove the icon. 8)

You can use the Microsoft Remote Display Control (I'll see if I can post a link) but it's not very fast at sending & recieving the screenshots & mouse clicks so I prefer to use the Pocket PC directly.

I go to start>programs...my program icons are there. I have 2 deleted program icons that are showing (along with other programs). When I tap and hold on the icon, i get an error "cannot find 'program name' make sure the path and filename...etc.etc.etc.... (no delete option) as I mentioned, I deleted this program from add/remove programs function, but the icon is still there.

tgotch, you can only erase the icons from within File Explorer. Make sure you go into that first, and then navigate to the Start Menu subfolder from there, as pocketpcdude1024 explains.

In case you don't know, the File Explorer is a program that's preinstalled on your PPC. You can access it via Start->Programs. Then using the File Explorer, navigate to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs as instructed then delete the icon files from within the File Explorer.

Right. I guess I wasn't explicit enough before. :?

Besides, you never really know how much to gadge a "newbie"s skill or proficiency, so it's best to explain steps plainly without making any large assumptions about their skill or lack thereof.
