I think this is more for digital sketching, drawing, etc - not so much for photo retouching.

No...because a pro photographer wouldnt be using this. As jason said...it's not for photo work. And nobody is calling this The Gulf War....that was 10 yrs ago. This is just War on Iraq or some variation...so I doubt you're the pro photographer you speak of.

exactly! seriously though...the app listed on your link seems to make more sense than the doodling program iPaint. I happen to be a photographer and work for a global news agency. We dont use PDA's...we give our people laptops with 1xrtt cards...although we have news bureaus in 40+ countries so we dont typically need to mobile-posting access. But it makes more sense for the photographer to take the pics and send them back to the editors to do the editing/adjusting. I know I wouldnt want to worry about gamma controls if i were in the field....sent it to the photoshop guru's back at the office.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to see this, as I've been looking for a paint/draw app for my PPC to make sketches on the go, and this one's about half the cost of the other ones I've looked at.

I have both Photogenics and PocketArtist, and while each have many more features than iPaint, they both are over 1MB in size, offer almost too many tool options, and can become quite slow handling larger files. They both also cost twice as much. iPaint is compact, fast and very versatile. Also the demo lets you fully explore it, you just can't save your creations.

Most certainly.. a basic digital camera outputs files with 1600x1200 resolution.. viewing them on a 320x240 screen is no fun..

If one takes the time to actually demo trial a quality viewer such as PQView or PocketLoupe, the instant thumbnail displays and 4-5 second full 100% scrollable file views would put those notions to rest.
