...at least in New York. It's 65 degrees and sunny outside, and people are walking around without jackets. If you're in New York, get away from the computer and go out! :)

Chicago too. But what do I do? Instead of walking in the park, I go to an indoor gym to use an exercise bike.

I really need to get one of those wrist heart monitors so I can make a break from the stationary equpment.... ;)

I did that yesterday... It was amazing! It'll be so nice to get off the subway and not get bitch-slapped with an icy wind!

It's even better today. We walked outside without jackets and even ate lunch outside in the shade. :D

Sorry for being so exultant about this, but I was tired of winter this year. No more snow please, thank you very much...

76 in Dallas. We had a pretty rough winter this year. I was getting tired of it as well. Not as rough as that of our friends up in the north but still pretty chilly. Today is the first day that I put on a T-shirt and go outside. Its that warm. The problem is that pretty soon I'll curse the summer when the temperature reaches a 98 degree high but that's how Texas works.

The only bad thing is that I have to get used to using my iPAQ with its backlight off but a small price for warmth.

OH GO CHICAGO!!!!

I went on my mountain bike around the neigborhood in a T and shorts! it was awesome, considering how cold it was just last week. Lets hope that this weather stays 8)

Which iPaq? The reflectives are absolutely superb in summer daylight, better than with the sidelight on. At least in my opinion. Of course, if your hands are sweaty it might slip out of them...

Ya, it was pretty warm here in seattle. It must be 60 or something.... ohno.. the strange bright yellow light in the sky is going away... now raining and windy and 50.

Just a little sample of northwest weather :D

3955 and I like to have the backlight on and I like being in low lighting so it looks nice. Just something that I like.

As for the sweaty hands, that actually happened last year with my Toshiba. I was about to get a newspaper and it just slipped out. The newspaper guy said that I had flinched my face out when it fell.

I am not a friend of really hot weather but I like mild however short it lasts.

Ah yes, the transflectives do look best indoors. Want to trade for my 3870?

Oof. :( What happened to it? I was very glad that HP included the cover pack with the 38xx and higher units, as it provides much better grip than the naked unit.

Well, it's 66 now today in NYC. :)

I won't be so happy when it's 100, but I think I still prefer hot to cold.

Life long New Yorker and IMHO there is no better place in the world. But this winter was kind of rough, some days I just didn't think ti could get any colder. But oh how sweet it is once the hints of summer show up in the weather forecast.
Yesterday was beautiful and today is even better. I will take a walk along Lexington to get my lunch sans coat.

Sure I would like to spend my winters somewhere warm like Florida, Arizona or Vegas but there is no better place to spend a summer than NYC!!!!!

Enjoy Janak!

Through winter long with gales and snow,
We've waited just to feel the glow
Of springtime sun.

If you don't mind sweating in the subway stations in July, NYC is absolutely the best. 8)

There is a cure for the insane heat of subways in July.

its called the Express bus and it is my preferred method of transportation to and from work.

Cushy chairs, A/C, that’s the way I like to travel. $1.50 more but it is worth it.

Heh. That might work in Brooklyn, which has decent-sized streets, but try taking an express bus through midtown during rush hour. I bet that's the slowest part of your trip. :D

Janak,

You hit it right on the head!. All is well from Brooklyn to the FDR and then you hit 23rd street.....about 15 minutes later you turn onto Madison.......... and then all bets are off.

Train is not much better, I had no choice because of St. Patty’s day yesterday and found myself on the R.......miserable!

Those of you who live outside of NY and get to drive to work, or whose commutes never go longer than 25 or 30 minutes count yourselves lucky.

Working in NYC is great but the commute is not the most pleasant thing in the world. And with the increased terror alert it will not get much better.

I miss downtown and the Financial center. :(

Well, there are fast subways (like the 2/3/4/5), there are slow subways (like the A/C/E - at least downtown/midtown), and then there is the R.

Indeed. I have a 45-minute commute, entirely mass-transit, and I consider myself extremely lucky. And the air-conditioning usually works on the commuter trains. ;)

Ditto. I used to work 6 blocks south of the WTC, but that job ended about 4 months before that day. It's not the same down there anymore.

The R is just a miserable experience that is hard to classify. But there are some speedier trains in the city, I agree on that.

a 45 minute commute is pretty sweet and AC helps, especially in the summer. That’s another reason its tough to beat the Express bus. A/C, nice cushy chair, Avantgo on my Axim while listening to music on my Sony MD helps my hour and 15 minute commute and makes it a bit more bearable.

I worked in World Financial Center building 2 and 3 and supported WTC Tower 1. Sadly Sept 10th 2001 was my last day downtown. Post 9/11 I was in Jersey city while my company rebuilt until last January when I found myself in midtown.
My commute has more than doubled coming down here.

There was nothing like working downtown though. Food was better, busy but not overly so, the atmosphere of the area, and above all working next to the Towers where I spent my Thursday nights in Windows of the World.
That was the place to be and makes working anywhere else in the city pale in comparison. But the job market being what it is choices are not quite as abundant as they once were, especially in the tech sector.

Heh. It's not officially spring yet. The temperature managed to stay up here one more day. As long as there's no more snow!

(I know, Chicagoans, and moreso Calgarians, are apt to laugh at me and my weakness. ;))
