do i need software? or is it as simple as a button i'm overlooking?

No, there is no button. The Pocket PC OS doesn't come with ladscape mode. But there is software that can give you landscape.

JSLandscape or NYDITOT Virtual Display are apps that are commonly recomended. Since I don't use Landscape a lot, I don't have them but I have heard say that they are pretty good.

There is a not so simple, free tweak that I use since I don't use Landscape a lot. On the www.pockettop.net website, try to find the driver for the wireless keyboard. Install it and then, to change the screen go to the input, pick the pockettop keyboard and tap on the rotation button. Simple, easy, and dangerous. Make sure you uncheck your password before attemting this method.

I would recomend the programs above if you are going to use Landscape a lot. I don't.

Download Pocketop Keyboard driver and
you get to rotate your screen for free.
