A PDA dealer I know told me it was recently presented in France.

I Googled for this but can't seem to find information about it.

In France ? I don't think so.. I have some informations given by FS Lebanon, if you're interested ;) :

128 MB RAM
3"8 Translative screen
GSM/GPRS
BlueTooth or Wi-Fi
PXA255

I think it's going to be officially introduced at CeBIT..

128 MB RAM is great news
3.8" screen is great too.
I think you mean transflective not Translative
It looks like GSM/GPRS won't be integrated but thru their d@m CF card

HP iPAQ H2200 Could be a Loox killer!

'Could' being the operative word methinks... We really know very little about the 2200 (the specs we have currently are 'multi-choice'). There will undoubtedly be a number of new Pocket PCs launched this Summer - including (perhaps...) a new Loox model - so it is perhaps too early to be calling it yet!

I've been 'collecting' e-mails and message board posts about the next gen Loox and have come to two conclusions:

1) It seems as if there may be at least two different prototype Looxes doing the rounds (or people are getting very confused!)

2) If I were to put together a 'photo fit' from thes various accounts - leaving in only the features they ALL agree on - then, should the 'Loox 700' be released it will be a serious competitor in the next round of 'PPC Wars'

Of course someone could come up from the outside and trump everyone... Dell maybe, or someone licencing the WANDA design ref... :?:

Yes. Again: it could be!

maybe Dell, Toshiba or iPAQ, who knows!

is there a chance the 700 will be thinner than the 600?`

because i think the current loox is a beauty to look at. a larger screen in the same housing will cause the loox 700 to look even smaller.

things that are required for me to "upgrade" include a thinner body (;) don't we all like it thin?), more ram, better touch-screen-input and a faster cpu.

Can anyone tell us (or hint :-)) when the Loox 700 will be available? And will it be the HP5555 killer that the 600 was supposed to be?

There are two Loox models due - one which should be confirmed/available soon'ish - the other not until September/October.

And will it be the HP5555 killer that the 600 was supposed to be?

Considering it was announced before the 39xx iPAQs were heard of, and it became available long before the 54xx iPAQ, it would be hard for the Loox 600 to have been seen as a 55xx killer...!

 yeah, I see what you mean. But in the UK, it was the first PDA with built in BT.
If the new loox has both BT & wifi, the same ram, sdio & screen spec. as the HP5555, and still has a CF slot, then it will be really hard for me to ignore - even though the 600 was a bit of a dog.
And also, as you state at firstloox.org, FSC are trying to learn from their mistakes!

I always like to point out that the Loox is FSC's first Pocket PC - which excuses some rough edges - but the Casio E200, iPAQ 38xx and Toshiba e740 - all effectively second goes by the respective manufacturers and all as rough or worse as the Loox - without the efforts that FSC have put into correcting any bugs/issues.

All-in-all - I'd say that bodes well for the next Loox models! :)

When ppc first came out it had some troubles, "amen" says the crowd, now Fujitsu has been out with the loox for a bit and has done a darn good job."preach it" says the crowd.
Dual slots
bult in blue tooth/or/wi fi
and ready for gsm/gprs. so lets use teh bt to sync with laptop or whatever, and surf on gprs.:)
the truth is the 2215/10 was out AFTER the loox and in that sense is catching up to being a device to what the loox ALREADY has been.
They are both good pda's and I am sure owners of both have a lot of good options.
