Just curious as to what people like to play. Actually, what is your favorite freeware ppc game and your favorite retail ppc game? Post a link if you don't mind. You never know when someone else may make it their favorite as well.

Favorite freeware: Warring States (http://boardgame.hypermart.net/warringstates.html) by Max Tillberg. Typical turn based strategy set in early China. Hoping the author completes it and adds a save function. Right now, you are left at completing the current game or starting over. However, I have found the game to be plenty of fun and addictive in its current state.

Favorite retail: Diamond Mine (http://www.astraware.com/ppc/mine/). I am sure most of you have heard of this if you are not playing it yourself. Very addictive and simple game play.

Well there was this thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8968) a few days / weeks ago with people discussing favorite games.

A common favorite is Snails (http://www.snailsgame.com/). I don't even have the full version, but the demo is definitely playable.

Well my favorite for cost PPC game is Everquest Episode I. I purchased it from handango, but I'm sure there are other places too. It is a pretty basic RPG/Adventure game, but fun! :o

And my favorite for free game is Big2 and I think I got it from PPCSG.com. It is a card game sort of based on poker ..... well sort of ...

DOOM for Pocket PC. This is an absolutely flawless port of this timeless game. Monsters are exactly where they were in the PC version, secrets are the same, etc. Really a lot of fun in landscape mode where you use the thumbpad on the left for directions and your finger on the right to shoot.

The everquest game is very good as well.

Anyone know of a good freeware Tetris? How about Donkey Kong?

My favourite games would have to be Snails and Bubblets. Those two ALWAYS get installed on whatever device I'm using. :D

And there was also the "Games!!!!" (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7133) thread which discussed a lot of games, too. That was started all the way back in January. :-)

Yes, it's Elite. a port of DOS version, far more advance than space trade. But you really have to look for it. I can't post link where to download since the original author refuse to give the port developer permission to continue post his work.

Sorry about the post on gaming when there was a post a few days ago. What I was actually wanting to know was what single retail game people were playing the most, as well as what single freeware game people were playing the most. I figured it would give a good overview of what was out there that is free vs what is out there that is pay. Guess I just didn't make it clear enough.

I've never seen what's so hot about Snails. Can anyone tell me? I installed it, played for an hour, and then uninstalled since I was underwhelmed, and hated the little snaily messages that pop up.

I love Diamond Mine. Emperor's Mahjong is great too, although I finished all but one level, and that one seems impossible!!!

It's funny and cool. :-) A bunch of people at my old company would play Worms, and I never got it. Now that I've played Snails, I get it.

Snails head to head is much more fun. My son and I play on our iPAQs (3955 and 3765) over our home LAN. Playing against the computer doesn't give you the same effect.

PPC to PPC games are the most fun for the dollar if you have the means.
