The phone is in good condition except for the following.
It has a few light scratches on the back of the battery cover.
The screen also garbles when it's squeezed too hard, and in other special circumstances but it can be releaved with by giving the phone a soft bump on the noggin. It comes with a blue faceplate with the VoiceStream logo on it.

It can be repaired... Mine was fixed ages ago and hasn't had the garbling problem since... Just thought you might wanna know.

The repair tech at my company (a cellular company) took mine, and reseated the screen, then replaced the gasket around it and it's been golden ever since. Granted, I only use it as a spare phone, but I haven't had a bit of trouble with the screen since. :way to go:

It doesn't require a replacement, just a little reseating, which should be relatively inexpensive if you take it to your local mom & pop...

what does "unlocked" mean?

Unlocked means that you can use it on any service provider that uses GSM (T-Mobile, Cingular, and AT&T Wireless in select areas).
