Is it me or is it difficult to power the e720 off via the power button. My unit is a refurb and I am about to place a call to get it fixed, but I just want to confirm if this is normal or not.

It's not just you. The power button on my unit is occasionally unresponsive.

I suspect that the PDA is in the middle of performing some internal operation when this happens. In those moments that I have the patience to wait after pressing off just once the unit does turn off after 5-10 seconds.

Not what one would expect in an instant on/instant off type of machine.

I have the same thing happen to me quite frequently on my e310, but it usually isn't serious, it just needs a few seconds to catch up with itself.

I think its fairly normal, I believe my past iPAQs have also done the same, maybe not quite as long, but like computers, these are software controlled power switches, even though it has some priority, it takes a sec.
