Pls help..new Dell today-activesync says "your device was not detected"

I just got my dell today but when I try to install avtivesync I get the message "your device was not detected. Verify that the connectin you are using are available".
I do have a free USB port. I am using win 98 but that should't be a problem.
What is wrong?

Did you install using the CD it came with? Did you install the software with the axim in the cradle? What version of Active sync are you using?

Agree with last post......make sure the USB drivers are installed or AS will not "see" the device.

If you go though Control Panel to Device Manager you should see your USB ports.....that may tell you if the driver is installed....

Thanks a lot. It's working now...I just didn't turn on the ppc in the cradle and that apparenly was the problem!! :oops:

I am going to have a lot a problems when I canørt even figure that out myself :wink:

But it sure is an amazing little mpice of machinery!!
