T-Mobile International will be the third mobile operator to sell a device running Microsoft's Smartphone software. The German company will offer in Europe, starting midyear, the same handset from High Tech Computer that Philippine mobile operator Smart Communications on Friday said it would start selling soon, Duffy said.

The HTC triband phone has a color screen, 32MB of memory, and a MultiMediaCard expansion slot. Its software includes slimmed-down versions of Microsoft's Outlook, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, and Windows Media Player."

All these announcements are in Europe and Asia. Good for them. But what about the USA?

What has become of the Samsung SCH-i600? This CDMA Verizon-branded phone has been FCC approved since Augsut 2002, but has seemingly vanished.

Will I pleasantly surprised by a major Microsoft announcement at CTIA? Perhaps a Smartphone roll-out in the USA?

Considering all the press at CES and other events, still nothing about MS Smartphone 2002 in the US.

Anyone? Anyone?

I used to get really excited about the smartphone. That was a year ago. Now don't get me wrong, I will be the 1st in line when it is offered in nebraska, but until then it does me no good to get excited until the phone is ringing in my ear. It is like waiting for your 21st b-day.

Do these smartphones support bluetooth? Can I dial the phone from my ipaq?
