I get this error frequently when visiting web sies on my 400 mhz Axim. There is really no reason for this. Example:
I turn on my Axim and go to www.pocketpcthoughts.com and it displays the page correctly, then I go to say www.msn.com and do some work there and then again when I want to go to www.pocketpcthoughts.com it says "The page can not be displayed". A lot of the web pages that I know work with PIE sometimes just give me the same error. Is there anyway to fix this?

the only time I've had that problem is when the network connection didn't connect! 8O

Seriously, though, using a wireless setup, if the dhcp server doesn't provide an IP address, the local IP address is set to a microsoft standard internal ip address (something like 169.x.x.x). You might check to see if things are working on your network.

There are a few utilities that will tell you your IP address if it changes. Check into those. One is http://www.isimus.com/IPer/. More can be found at http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/networkutils.htm.

If you are connecting via the ActiveSync -- make sure the ActiveSync is green!

Good luck,

Dan

Thank you for your help. I'll check my network as soon as I get home.

I remeber something vaguely about a problem with PIE doing that... you had to run a file on the PPC to correct the problem. not narrowed down to any brand/device either.

Maybe do a search for PIE stuff here, maybe you can find an older thread that talks about the same problem.

Might help, might not, but worth a shot.

I just recieved my Dell and when i get new harware i hack it as much as i can. I found a web site that edits PPC:
http://www.phm.lu/PocketPC/RegTweaks/

There is a reg editor download and then tweak the registry IE from MIE 3.02 to 5.5 or 6.0

this has helped me alot.

OK, I have downloaded PHMRegEdit, but have no clue how to change that IE setting. I have no experience with editting registries whatsoever. So can someone help me out with this please.

Use this instead. No need to know the keys you need to modify...
