Hi All, my Axim is coming soon and I was planing to get a Sandisk 256 meg SD card for it. I've heard of speed problems with this card, will it be fast enough to play 200kbs Divx movies off of? Anyone have experience with this card? Thanks.

I'm using a Sandisk 256MB SD card in my iPAQ 5450. I recently made a DivX file of the movie Ice Age which came out at 235MB with 25fps, 350kbps, and 320x176 resolution. It plays back absolutely fine using PocketMVP.

i think the 256 MB is fast enough, i don't know the lower capacity, because i know the 64 MB sandisk is not fast enough for high bitrate movie file.

I would not think that stroage size would make a difference in I/O speed. Does it?

It actually does...not necessarily because of the size, but that with the latest and largest cards, they have a better IO speed, presumably because of the technology evolving. I have no technical explanation, but I do know it's true...i.e. 512MB SD card will be faster than a 64MB card.

Confused, one is, I see..

Running a 64meg Sandisk SD card, play 320X240 MEPG1 files at 300kbs video and 64kbs audio without a hitch using PocketTV.

This is on a 200mhz Maestro.
