<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=7773' target='_blank'>http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=7773</a><br /><br /></div>"The new chip, now to be known as the Intel PXA800F, integrates a 312MHz version of Intel's Xscale processor core with a digital signal processor (DSP) and 4MB of flash memory on a single silicon chip. The company reckons that combining comms capability with basic computing functions and memory in a single 0.13 micron chip will help provide a price advantage over competing offerings."<br /><br />Sounds pretty cool, especially for Smartphones. I wonder how long this processor will take to actually appear in products...

One of the VP's from intel was talking about it at the Pocket PC summitt this last year and he had stated there was very capable performance basically saying it would perform better than current XScale crop... but I guess time will tell. He also had made mention of a Wireless version of MMX which was supposed to bring a sort of SSE to mobile processors...
