I'm new to PPC (to handheld PC altogether), so this question is probably quite silly. If there's a FAQ or info web page for noobs, please point the way.

I'm interested in PPC now that Dell has an affordable yet HQ solution. But when I started looking for software, they always list "Ipaq only", "ARM only", "SH3" only etc.

AFAIK, the Intel PX250 is also ARM(5), yes? But won't software for Ipaq work on Axim then? :? Is there some sort of table where I can see which software will work on which PPC?

Thx

Not silly at all, we all have to start somewhere :-)

Here you have a pretty good walktrough of the apps that come "in the box" when you buy a PocketPC!

The Intel PX250 is an Xscale CPU, but 99% all software compiled for the ARM CPU will also work for Xscale!

No worries ;-)

This is a really good site, with good links, that you could probably poke around for several hours.
