New Battery

Has anyone bought the big, beefy battery replacement for the 5450? and if so, how is the battery life?

i haven't bought one, because I don't have a 5450, but this battery is part of the reason I opted for a 3970. The battery life should be nearly twice what your getting from the factory original that came with your 5450, but the downside is, I read that you can't use the extended life battery and any sleeves at the same time because of the extra thickness of it.

That is a downside since I use a 1gb Microdrive with an SS2 from PDA Motion. I will have to wait until I can get my hands on an affordable 1gb SD card, in other words, quite a while. Can anyone confirm this vicious rumor? thanks for the info.

Does anyone know the milliamp rating on the extended battery vs. that of the regular battery? I get 4-5 hours of usage on my regular battery (with wi-fi turned off however). So I think you should be able to interpolate the expected battery life of the new ones.

The extended battery is reported to be a 2500mah battery which should give you twice the battery life. If I remember correctly the original battery that ships with the 5450 is 1250mah. There is an article and discussion thread on this battery over at pocketpcpassion.com
